Pastor Derek Buikema is the Lead Pastor at Orland Park Church, and he has been at OPCRC since August of 2013. Derek and his wonderful wife Aubrey have one daughter and one baby on the way, who fill them with joy. Derek grew up in Brookfield, WI and attended Wheaton College, Westminster Seminary, and Calvin Seminary. Each of those institutions was used by God to deepen Derek's love for Christ, His Word, and the church.
Derek’s sermons have been featured on several AM 1160 (WYLL Chicago) programs, and he is a regular conference speaker. When he can find the time, he enjoys playing basketball with friends from the church, Ultimate Frisbee, and improvisational comedy. He particularly loves getting to know new people, conversation with good friends, Christ-centered expositional preaching, and the Heidelberg Catechism.
Rev. Dr. Adron Robinson serves as the first ever African American Senior Pastor in the 50-year history of Hillcrest Baptist Church located in Country Club Hills, Illinois. He is committed to serving the Hillcrest family and surrounding communities with compassion and integrity to the glory of God. He and Veronica, his lovely bride of 17 years, are committed to glorifying God in their marriage and ministry.
Pastor Adron currently holds a B.A. from DePaul University, a certificate in Urban Ministry from the Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education (S.C.U.P.E.), a Master of Divinity from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention and as President of the Illinois Baptist State Association.
Pastor Adron is passionate about Men’s Ministry; therefore, he established the Men’s Fraternity at Hillcrest Baptist Church. He believes that every man needs a man to help him understand and embrace manhood. Because of this belief, Pastor Adron has spent the last eight years cultivating men to embrace and engage biblical manhood and to join the church in fulfilling the Mission of God.
Rev. Romell Williams, a native of Chicago, is the first-born son of Rev. and Mrs. Romell Williams. Sr. Rev. Williams represents the third generation of men in his family to preach the Word of God. He accepted his call to ministry and was licensed at 17. He was later ordained at the age of 19. Rev. Williams was educated at the historical Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He is a graduate of Trinity International University.
The reverend accepted his call to be the shepherd of Lilydale Progressive M.B. Church in September 2004 and has committed himself to the spiritual health and growth of the members of Lilydale and the Roseland community. Under his leadership, Lilydale has experienced physical, spiritual, and administrative growth.
He is a sought-after speaker on a local and national level, both within and beyond denominational boundaries. He is also a recognized expositor of God’s word with experience in conferences, revivals, lecture series’, and other parachurch endeavors. Currently, he serves as the associate director for preaching workshops with the Simeon Trust.
God has favored Rev. Williams and given him a helpmate. He is married to the lovely Mrs. LaTisha DeBre’ Williams of Rockford, IL, and they are the proud parents of two sons: Caleb Jefferson Williams and Joshua Romell Williams.
Pastor Jayson grew up in Granite City, IL, just across the river from St. Louis, MO. He is married to Lindsay, whom he met and dated while attending college when both of them were All-Americans in soccer. They were married in 1999, and they have three children: Noah, Amanda, and Jacob.
Jayson's call to ministry didn't come immediately as it does for some. After a successful 10-year career in orthopedic sales, Pastor Jayson and his family moved to the Dominican Republic in 2010, where he served as a ministry coordinator and staff pastor and preached regularly in a local church. After returning to the U.S. in 2013, Jayson was called by WEBC to become the Senior Pastor.
Pastor Jayson believes that the most important ministry he has is the preaching of God’s word and its truth, week after week, to see the congregation grow in the knowledge of the Word of God. In the model of the great preachers of the past and present, Pastor Jayson desires to see the church edified each week through the faithful exposition of scripture, following books of the Bible one verse at a time.
When he isn't studying for Sunday or Wednesday messages, Pastor Jayson loves meeting with people and getting to know them personally. Stop by the church, and you will likely find him sitting across the table from someone, working through issues of understanding and applying the gospel in everyday life. He is a gifted leader and communicator, which can be seen in his desire to walk alongside others as they grow in their knowledge of the scriptures and seek to apply them personally.
In addition to his ministry at WEBC, Pastor Jayson also serves as a Pastoral Adoption Consultant for the Evangelical Child and Family Agency, as the Baseball Chaplain for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes IMPACT Baseball program, and as a midweek chapel speaker at Wayside Cross Ministries in Aurora, IL. Jayson has been a featured guest and speaker on WYLL AM 1160, and he has preached to churches and events in Asia, Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean.
If you don't find Pastor Jayson in his office, he is probably with his wife and kids, standing alongside a river or lake with a fishing pole in his hand.
